Sarawak Premier Visits Family Of The Late Dr Yong Sau Kan To Pay Final Respects
KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg took time to visit the family residence of the late Datin Patinggi Puan Sri Dr Yong Sau Kan, a prominent Sarawakian figure who passed away last Saturday at the age of 100.
The Premier’s arrival at 3.20pm on Monday was a gesture of appreciation and respect for the late leader’s immense service and contributions to the community.
Receiving the Premier at the late Dr Yong Sau Kan’s residence on Jalan Tabuan here were her two children, Dr Wong Chee May and Wong Chee Ling.
Datin Patinggi Puan Sri Dr Yong Sau Kan was the former spouse of the late former Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Wong Soon Kai.
Throughout her life, the late Dr Yong was among those who remained loyal in supporting her husband’s political struggle since he joined the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) in 1978.
The late Dr Yong is scheduled to be buried at Nirvana Memorial Park, Bau, on April 28. -UKASnews
