KUCHING: A total of 149 individuals were conferred Sarawak State Honours in an investiture ceremony held at the Astana Negeri Sarawak, on Thursday.

The ceremony was graced by Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and was also attended by his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

The conferment began with the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S), awarded to Dr Hadi Ab Jalil.

This was followed by the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K) which was conferred to 13 individuals, while the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B) was awarded to 18 recipients.

For the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S), a total of 10 individuals received the honour, followed by the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K) which was conferred to 25 recipients.

Meanwhile, the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T) was awarded to 38 individuals, while the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S) was presented to 44 recipients.

Also present during the ceremony were Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and his wife Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang, Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya and his wife Datin Shanti Achmad Ramly, Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu and his wife Datin Rosemarie Wong and Director of the Sarawak Mufti Department Ahmad Sukarno Saini. -UKASnews
