TEGAS Clinches BrandLaureate BestBrands 2026 Award, Bolstering Sarawak Entrepreneurship Development
KUALA LUMPUR: The Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) continues to strengthen its role in entrepreneurial development and community empowerment by receiving The BrandLaureate Bumiputera BestBrands Awards 2026 in the category of Excellence in Entrepreneurship Development & Community Empowerment.
The award presentation ceremony took place at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur and was witnessed by the Sarawak Deputy Minister for Transport (Aviation and Road) and TEGAS Deputy Chairman Dr Jerip Susil, representing TEGAS Chairman Datuk Len Talif Salleh, alongside TEGAS Chief Executive Officer Udin Bujang.
Datuk Len Talif said this recognition serves as a testament to TEGAS's ongoing success in empowering the innovation and digital entrepreneurship ecosystem in Sarawak through various strategic initiatives and collaborations with diverse stakeholders.
“We are deeply honoured to receive this recognition, which reflects the collective efforts of the entire TEGAS team, as well as the continuous support from the Sarawak Government and our strategic partners.
“This award serves as a catalyst for us to further strengthen our initiatives in talent development, community empowerment, and stimulating digital entrepreneurial growth in Sarawak,” he said in a press statement on Wednesday.
This accolade reflects TEGAS's steadfast commitment since 2012 to driving digital innovation, STEM and TVET education, and entrepreneurial development in Sarawak, with the execution of 102 programmes throughout 2025 involving over 1.08 million participants, the organisation has made a significant impact on educational access, digital skills, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Among TEGAS's key initiatives are the TEGAS Digital Village and TEGAS Digital Innovation Hub, which act as catalysts for startup growth, facilitating technology transfer and accelerating the commercialisation process in line with Sarawak's aspirations for a digital economy by 2030.
The BrandLaureate BestBrands Awards 2026, themed around the empowerment of Bumiputera brands, also emphasises excellence, resilience, and an organisation’s ability to build high-impact brands, thereby contributing to national economic development and strengthening their position at both national and global levels.-UKASnews
