Welfare, Safety & Wellbeing Of Workers Prioritised For Sarawak’s Progress
KUCHING: The welfare, safety, and wellbeing of the workforce must be given continuous attention as the foundation for sustainable and balanced development in Sarawak.
Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said that each and every job, regardless in public or private, holds its own value in contributing to economic growth and social prosperity.
According to him, this year’s celebration theme, "Pekerja Kesuma Bangsa", alongside Sarawak’s theme, “Pekerjaan Cemerlang, Sarawak Maju Makmur”, reflects the vital role of workers as the heartbeat of the state's development.
He said this in a special message in conjunction with the Labour Day celebration today.
In the meantime, he urged all parties to continue strengthening a professional work culture, maintaining integrity, and practicing teamwork.
Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi expressed confidence that through close cooperation between workers, employers, and the government, the Land of the Hornbills will continue to move forward as a prosperous, competitive, and internationally respected state. — UKASnews
