MIRI: A total of RM88,500 has been allocated through the Minor Rural Project (MRP) for the Pujut constituency to empower community development, covering the sports, education, welfare, and cultural sectors.
Pujut Assemblyman and Mayor of Miri City, Adam Yii Siew Sang, stated that the allocation was distributed to 19 local associations and organisations to support the implementation of community activities and programmes.
He said this while speaking at the MRP Presentation Ceremony at the Pujut People’s Service Centre on Saturday.
According to him, the distribution of this assistance reflects an ongoing commitment to ensuring that community development is implemented inclusively and comprehensively.
At the same time, he emphasised that the harmony of the multi-racial society in Sarawak must continue to be preserved as the foundation of the state's strength and stability.
He added that the implementation of the Sarawak Poor Home Improvement Project (PPRMS) has also had a significant impact on the people's wellbeing, particularly for the B40 group.
According to him, in the Pujut area alone, a total of 287 houses were repaired between 2022 and 2025, involving 1,446 households.
In this regard, he encouraged eligible members of the public to come forward to obtain information and apply for assistance through the People’s Service Centre to ensure that every government initiative can be fully utilised.
The ceremony reflects a continued commitment to strengthening community wellbeing through financial support and the implementation of high-impact, comprehensive development programmes. -UKASnews
