SPAOH: Efforts to strengthen rural education continue to be reinforced as Sarawak Deputy Premier, who also serves as the Second Minister for Finance and New Economy and Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas contributed RM30,000 to support the annual activities of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SMK Spaoh.
The contribution was presented during a brief handover ceremony of an Interactive Smart Board and PIBG activity assistance held at the Spaoh Senior Citizens Centre on Sunday, organised by the Bukit Saban Constituency Service Centre.
The allocation is aimed at assisting the school in planning and implementing a range of educational programmes encompassing academic, character development and co-curricular aspects for students throughout the year.
The initiative is in line with the Sarawak government’s aspiration to ensure access to quality education is enjoyed inclusively, particularly in rural areas.
The school also recorded its appreciation for the continuous support provided and expressed hope that close cooperation among leaders, parents and the education community can be further strengthened to produce a competitive generation of students.
The ceremony, which was attended by approximately 10 guests also witnessed the official handover of a donation cheque which was confirmed through an acknowledgment of receipt dated the same day. -UKASnews
