Sarawak Government Strengthens Efforts To Address Water Supply Issues
KUCHING: The Sarawak Government remains committed to strengthening the water supply system in Batu Kitang, including addressing low water pressure and prolonged supply disruptions affecting residents of Kampung Bunga Rampai and RPR Landeh, 10th Mile.
Batu Kitang Assemblyman Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang stated that the issues long faced by residents must be addressed to ensure they enjoy more stable and continuous access to water supply.
“Residents have faced this problem for a long time. Access to water supply is a basic necessity and cannot be allowed to persist,” he said.
He said this while debating the Motion of Appreciation on the address delivered by the Sarawak Governor during the 19th Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting on Wednesday.
In this regard, he urged for all approvals related to water supply solution projects to be expedited so that implementation work can begin without delay.
According to him, enhancing basic facilities, including water supply and utility infrastructure, is vital in ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of the people remain protected.
At the same time, he also raised the issue of repair works by utility agencies which allegedly often leave roads in poor condition after work is completed.
He noted that such conditions not only inconvenience road users but can also pose safety risks if not properly addressed.
He emphasised that every utility repair job must be followed by proper road restoration, including resurfacing works, to guarantee the safety and comfort of residents. -UKASnews
