Engkilili R&R Begins Operations, Boosting User Convenience & Local Economy
ENGKILILI: The Engkilili Rest and Service (R&R) facility has officially begun operations, offering various amenities to enhance the comfort of road users while boosting the local community’s economy.
Sri Aman Division Resident Mahra Salleh conducted a monitoring visit to the R&R facility in conjunction with its first day of operations to review the level of preparedness and the smoothness of facility management.
He said the facility which is managed by Sokanjaya JKR is expected to provide added value for road users, especially those travelling along the main route in Engkilili.
During the visit, he also inspected various facilities provided including eight business stalls comprising seven food and beverage stalls and one grocery shop, which operate daily from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm.
In addition, the R&R is equipped with male and female toilets, a surau, rest shelters, as well as parking areas for public transport and private vehicles.
Mahra expressed hope that the Engkilili R&R facility would provide significant benefits to road users in terms of comfort, safety and convenience for rest throughout their journey.
He said the existence of the R&R is also expected to stimulate local economic growth through business opportunities provided to small entrepreneurs and local traders. -UKASnews
