Preparations For SKS 2026 Central Zone Programme Strengthened
SIBU: Preparations for the organisation of the Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) 2026 Central Zone programme are being further strengthened through a coordination meeting held at RH Hotel here.
Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Operation) and Divisional-Level Committee chairman for Sibu, Sarikei, Mukah and Betong, Datu Hii Chang Kee, said close coordination among all implementing agencies is crucial to ensure the smooth organisation of the programme.
According to him, strong cooperation between departments and related agencies will help ensure that all programme activities are carried out systematically and achieve the intended objectives.
He said this while chairing the SKS 2026 Central Zone Coordination Meeting on Monday, which was also attended by Sibu Resident Abang Mohamad Porkan Abang Budiman, along with heads and representatives of various implementing agencies.
Among the matters discussed were coordination of tasks among agencies, programme planning and logistical aspects to ensure the smooth running of the event.
The meeting also featured presentations by committee members to update the status of preparations and the level of readiness for the organisation of SKS 2026 Central Zone.
The SKS programme for the Sibu Division is scheduled to take place at Dataran Bandar Sibu from July 10 to 12, 2026, and will be officiated by the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
Various activities have been lined up throughout the programme, including exhibitions, government agency service delivery, entrepreneurship activities, traditional sports and community entertainment performances.
Following Sibu, the programme will continue at the Sarikei Sports Complex from August 7 to 9, 2026, followed by Dataran Pehin Sri Raja, Mukah from August 28 to 30, 2026, and the Betong Sports Complex from September 4 to 6, 2026. -UKASnews
