Datuk Gerald Rentap Contributes 13 Sacrificial Cattle For Aidiladha In Betong
BETONG: Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu continued his annual tradition by contributing 13 sacrificial cattle to the Malay community in the Betong area in conjunction with this year's Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.
The contribution was distributed to several Malay villages around Betong, with Kampung Masjid, Kampung Tengah, Kampung Hilir, Kampung Baru Hulu and Kampung Baru Hilir each receiving two sacrificial cattle.
Meanwhile, Kampung Pasa Melayu, Ranting Perumahan Melayu and the Betong District Police Headquarters (IPD) each received one sacrificial cow.
Datuk Gerald and his wife Datin Rosemarie Wong also took the opportunity to visit the sacrificial slaughtering activities to observe the smooth implementation of the programme while mingling with residents at Kampung Melayu Betong on Wednesday.
The Layar Assemblyman also expressed his admiration for the strong spirit of cooperation displayed by villagers in ensuring the success of this year’s sacrificial rites.
He hoped the contribution would further strengthen religious and welfare activities within the Malay community in Betong while continuing to foster harmony among the area’s multi-ethnic communities.
The distribution of sacrificial meat was handled by the Surau Committee and the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) in their respective villages to ensure the distribution process ran smoothly and in an orderly manner. -UKASnews
