KUCHING: Eight villages in the Batu Kitang area benefited from the Aidiladha Sacrificial Programme and Meat Distribution initiative held in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration on Wednesday.

The programme involved the distribution of sacrificial meat to residents in Kampung Lidah Tanah, Kampung Bukit Panchor, Kampung Batu Kitang Lama, Kampung Haji Baki (Block A, B and C), Kampung Paya Mebi, RPR Landeh, Kampung Bunga Rampai and Kampung Sandong.

Batu Kitang Assemblyman Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang said the programme not only enlivened the Aidiladha celebration with the spirit of sacrifice and sincerity, but also served as a platform to strengthen ties between leaders and the multi-ethnic community.

According to him, the on-the-ground initiative to engage with the local community reflects the ongoing commitment to ensuring the welfare of the people remains a priority.

In this regard, Dato Ir Lo expressed hope that the contribution would benefit recipients while further strengthening community bonds among the locals. -UKASnews
