Tengku Ampuan Of Pahang Visits Sarawak State Library Booth At KLIBF 2026
KUALA LUMPUR: Her Royal Highness the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Almarhum Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj, graciously visited the Sarawak State Library booth to view the exhibitions and activities held in conjunction with the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2026 on Sunday.
The visit was a significant honour and recognition of ongoing efforts to uphold cultural heritage while introducing Sarawak’s wealth of knowledge, literature and intellectual treasures to the wider public.
During the visit, the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang also graciously watched a Sape performance and an Orang Ulu traditional dance presentation by Anderson Kalang and the MupunTauh Orang Ulu Ladies group.
Anderson Kalang, also known as the “Sape’ Shredder”, is a co-founder of the Kuala Lumpur Sape’ Collective and the MupunTauh group.
A member of the Kelabit community, he is a Sape player, cultural dancer and active arts practitioner dedicated to promoting Bornean cultural heritage at both national and international levels.
The performance showcased the distinctive artistry of traditional Sape music combined with the traditional dances of the Orang Ulu community, offering visitors to KLIBF 2026 an opportunity to experience the richness of Sarawak’s cultural heritage.
KLIBF 2026 is being held from 29 May to 7 June 2026 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), with the Sarawak State Library booth continuing to serve as a platform for promoting the state's publications, culture and heritage to visitors from across the country. -UKASnews
