Dato Idris Extends Assistance To Family Of Fatal Road Accident Victims
KOTA SAMARAHAN: Deputy Speaker of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) and Muara Tuang Assemblyman, Dato Idris Buang, visited the family of victims of a road accident that claimed five lives in Kampung Lubuk Ria here on Wednesday.
The visit was aimed at conveying his condolences and providing moral support to the bereaved family members who are facing a difficult time following the tragedy.
During the visit, he also presented a cash contribution to the victims’ family as a gesture of concern and as immediate assistance to help ease the burden borne by the next of kin.
The tragic accident, which occurred along Jalan Baki Lama–Ensengei on Wednesday morning, claimed the lives of five family members, including a baby girl, after the vehicle they were travelling in reportedly lost control before crashing into a water pipe by the roadside.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), an emergency call regarding the incident was received at 8.41am, prompting firefighters to be dispatched to the scene.
The victims comprised an adult man, three women and a baby girl.
Firefighters successfully extricated four trapped adults from the wreckage, while the infant was found by members of the public near the accident site and is believed to have been thrown from the vehicle due to the force of the impact.
All five victims were pronounced dead at the scene by personnel from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) before their bodies were handed over to the police for further action.
Dato Idris described the tragedy as deeply heartbreaking and expressed hope that the bereaved family members would be granted strength and resilience in facing the ordeal. -UKASnews
