UKAS Randau Komuniti Serves As Key Platform For Delivering Government Information To Rakyat
BAU: The Randau Komuniti 2026 programme organised by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) continues to serve as an important platform for disseminating information on Sarawak Government policies, initiatives and development programmes to the people, particularly those in rural areas.
Sarawak Deputy Minister for Transport (Riverine and Maritime) and Tasik Biru Assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said the programme is not merely a session to engage with the people but also an effective medium for strengthening the relationship between the government and the community.
According to him, through programmes such as Randau Komuniti, residents have the opportunity to obtain accurate information on the various assistance schemes, initiatives and development programmes provided by the government.
“The Sarawak Government has introduced numerous initiatives, including the use of the digital payment platform Sarawak Pay, now known as SPay Global, as well as various educational assistance programmes for Sarawakian children.
“There are also education assistance schemes such as the Free Tertiary Education Scheme (FTES) and various incentives aimed at helping students pursue their studies at higher education institutions,” he said.
He said this while officiating at the Randau Komuniti 2026 programme at the Kampung Sebobok Multipurpose Hall here on Saturday.
In addition, he said the government continues to focus on the development of infrastructure and basic amenities, including clean water supply, public facilities and telecommunications connectivity, to improve the well-being of rural communities.
At the same time, he reminded the public to make prudent use of technological advancements and to remain vigilant against the growing threat of online scams.
The UKAS Randau Komuniti 2026 programme also featured the participation of various government agencies, which provided exhibitions, information-sharing sessions and services to local residents.
The programme served as an effective platform for interaction between the government and the people in efforts to strengthen information dissemination and foster closer community ties.
The event was also held in conjunction with the Hari Gawai celebrations, further enhancing the spirit of unity and togetherness among the multi-ethnic communities in the area.
Also present was Bau District Officer Eddy Nayoi. -UKASnews
