Sebangan RTC Holds Potential To Drive Rural Economy
SEBUYAU: The Sebangan Rural Transformation Centre (RTC) has the potential to become a major catalyst for rural economic growth through the provision of facilities and services that benefit the local community.
Sarawak Minister for Utility and Telecommunication and Sebuyau Assemblyman Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi said the Sebangan RTC plays a vital role in supporting community economic activities and opening up more opportunities for residents to raise their standard of living.
“The Sebangan RTC holds immense potential to develop as a community focal point that can support various economic activities and directly benefit the residents in Sebangan and its surrounding areas,” he said.
He said this during a visit to the Sebangan RTC on Saturday to inspect the facilities provided and assess the center's potential as a community economic development hub for rural areas.
According to him, the facilities available at the Sebangan RTC not only ease the daily affairs of the residents but are also capable of becoming a platform to stimulate the growth of entrepreneurship and the local economy.
Dato Sri Julaihi hopes that the Sebangan RTC will continue to be fully utilized by the local population and evolve into a community development hub capable of reinforcing socio-economic growth in a sustainable and continuous manner.
He also emphasised that efforts to empower rural areas must be implemented continuously to ensure that communities in these areas also enjoy balanced development benefits in line with Sarawak's development agenda.
Throughout the visit, he also interacted with traders, visitors, and residents using the facilities at the centre to gather feedback regarding its operations and the services offered.
The visit also provided him with an opportunity to see the current condition of the Sebangan RTC firsthand and identify areas for improvement that can be implemented to ensure the facility remains relevant to the community's needs. — UKASnews
