Sarawak Forestry Department Receives Five-Star Special Protection Security Award 2025
PUTRAJAYA: The Sarawak Forestry Department (SFD) has been awarded the Five-Star Special Protection Security Award 2025 by the Office of the Chief Government Security Officer (CGSO), Prime Minister’s Department.
The award was presented by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar at the Special Protection Security Awards 2026 ceremony held at Dewan Damar Sari, Federal Government Administrative Centre, here on Monday.
According to an SFD statement, the recognition reflects the department’s continuous efforts to strengthen its organisational security management system, safeguard government assets and ensure the confidentiality of information in line with current requirements and the challenges of the digital era.
“We would like to express our appreciation to all department personnel who have played an important role in ensuring that a culture of protection security remains a priority.
“This achievement will serve as a catalyst for us to further enhance excellence in public service delivery and forest resource management in a professional, ethical and resilient manner,” the statement said.
The award is the highest recognition for excellence in protection security management among government agencies, covering aspects such as physical security, classified document security, information and communication technology (ICT) security, as well as compliance with government security policies and regulations.
The achievement is particularly significant as SFD is the only Sarawak government agency to receive the recognition.
The award also underscores the department’s commitment to practising excellent protection security governance and meeting the standards set by the Federal Government. -UKASnews
