Health As The Most Valuable Asset, Public Urged To Continue Practising Healthy Lifestyle
KUCHING: Awareness of the importance of maintaining physical and mental health must continue to be strengthened in order to produce a healthy, productive society capable of contributing to the development of the state.
Tupong Assemblyman and Chief Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, said that health is the most valuable asset and that efforts to educate the community on healthy living practices must be carried out on a continuous basis.
"Aspects of healthy eating, physical activity, mental health care and regular health screenings should be made part of daily life in order to prevent various non-communicable diseases," he said.
He made these remarks when officiating at the National Agenda for a Healthy Malaysia (ANMS) Tour, Kuching Division Series 2/2026, held at Masjid Al-Abyad here on Saturday.
The programme, organised by the Kuching Division Health Office and the Petra Jaya Health Clinic, received an encouraging response from the local community, who took the opportunity to participate in the various health and community activities provided.
Among the programme highlights were aerobics and brisk walking sessions, MADANI sales, health talks on stress management and burnout among parents, free health screenings, physical screenings, as well as various competitions for children and senior citizens. -UKASnews
