KUCHING: Wife of the Sarawak Governor Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi received a courtesy visit from the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) International Conference of Applied and Creative Arts (ICACA 2026) Committee delegation at the Astana Negeri Sarawak on Thursday.

The courtesy visit led by UNIMAS Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Ahmad Hata Rasit aimed to invite Toh Puan Fauziah to officiate ICACA 2026 which will be held at the Experimental Theatre of the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FACA) UNIMAS on 23 September 2026.

The eighth edition of the international conference is scheduled to take place for three days from 23 to 25 September 2026.

ICACA is a biennial conference that began in 2006 with the support of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) as well as the collaboration of various domestic and foreign institutions to strengthen academic scholarship in the field of art conservation and innovation.

For this year's event, ICACA was also made possible through a collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and the Indonesian Art Institute of Yogyakarta with the theme 'Co-Creating Sustainable Future in Applied and Creative Arts Technology'.

Also present during the courtesy visit were FACA Dean Dr Louis Ringah Kanyan, ICACA 2026 Chairwoman Dr Laura Prati and ICACA 2026 Deputy Chairwomen Dr Mawar Suhaila and Dr Jong Sze Joon. -UKASnews
