Sarawak Governor & Wife Spend Time At Betong Tamu Market, Engage With Local Traders
BETONG: The Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, took time to visit the Betong Tamu Market before enjoying breakfast at the Bumiputera Stall of the Betong District Council (MDB) here on Sunday.
The arrival of Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan at around 7 in the morning was warmly welcomed by traders and visitors alike, who seized the opportunity to mingle and capture memorable moments with the couple.
Throughout the visit, the couple also purchased several items from local traders as a gesture of support for the economic activities of the local community.
After spending time at the tamu market, they proceeded to enjoy breakfast at the MDB Bumiputera Stall in a relaxed and warm atmosphere together with the community.
Also in attendance were the Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Coordinator of Regional Development Agencies, Kuching North City Hall and Islamic Affairs), Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development of Sarawak, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, as well as other guests.
The programme formed part of the activities in conjunction with the Sarawak-level Celebration of the Official Birthday of His Majesty the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong 2026, held in Betong.
He was subsequently scheduled to attend a Tea Reception in conjunction with the said celebration, held at the Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Kalong Ningkan Sports Hall, Betong. -UKASnews
