Sarawak Premier Appointed Patron Of Sarawak Heart Foundation
KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg received a courtesy call from a delegation of the Sarawak Heart Foundation at the Satria Pertiwi Complex on Tuesday.
The delegation, led by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, was there to present the Sarawak Premier with his official letter of appointment as Patron of the Sarawak Heart Foundation, effective from 15 April.
On the same date, Datuk Amar Dr Sim was also appointed Chairman of the foundation.
The courtesy call also served to introduce the foundation’s Board of Trustees to the Sarawak Premier in his capacity as the foundation’s new Patron.
During the meeting, representatives of the foundation presented the official letter of appointment as a gesture of appreciation and recognition of his leadership in supporting efforts to enhance public health in the state.
Discussions also touched on the role and future direction of the Sarawak Heart Foundation in raising public awareness on heart health, preventing cardiovascular diseases and implementing educational and welfare programmes that benefit Sarawakians.
In addition, the visit provided a platform to strengthen collaboration between the Sarawak Heart Foundation and the Sarawak Government in expanding public health initiatives and advancing the people’s wellbeing through various programmes and activities planned for the future.
The Sarawak Heart Foundation also expressed its appreciation for Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari’s willingness to accept the appointment as Patron, noting that his involvement would further strengthen the foundation’s role and credibility in promoting heart health and healthy lifestyles among communities throughout Sarawak.
Also present during the visit were Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development and Board of Trustees Member Datuk Dr Annuar Rapa’ee, Board of Trustees Member Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu and other dignitaries. -UKASnews
