Sarawak Governor Receives Courtesy Visit From Hungarian Ambassador To Malaysia
KUCHING: The Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, received a courtesy visit from the Ambassador of Hungary to Malaysia, Dr Sandor Sipos, at the Astana Negeri Sarawak on Thursday.
The courtesy visit was aimed at strengthening relations between Hungary and Sarawak, as well as discussing potential cooperation in the areas of green transition, biodiversity, technology transfer and knowledge sharing.
The visit also touched on the long-standing historical ties between Hungary and Sarawak, as well as efforts to commemorate the contributions of Hungarian scientists through collaborative programmes with the Sarawak State Library.
Also present during the courtesy call were Deputy Head of Mission Kamilla Balla, Honorary Consul of Hungary Dato Damien Chua, Special Officer of the Honorary Consulate of Hungary Cheering Tan, and Director of the Sarawak Regional Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dato Fenny Nuli. -UKASnews
