YADIM Strengthens Cooperation With Sarawak Government
KUCHING: Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM) aspires to strengthen cooperation with the Sarawak Government to empower da'wah efforts that are more prudent, inclusive and in line with the uniqueness of the pluralistic society in this state.
YADIM President Datuk Dr Hasan Bahrom said the matter was discussed during a courtesy visit to the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg at Satria Pertiwi Complex, on Friday.
He said, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari also provided views and advice on a more harmonious preaching approach to strengthen relations between races and religions, especially in the context of multi-racial society in Sarawak.
"I thank Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari for his willingness to accept YADIM's visit.
"We are very excited by the reception given and the discussions that took place, especially on how da'wah can be carried out more harmoniously and prudently so as not to cause sensitive matters in the community, especially in Sarawak," he said in a press conference after the visit.
In the meantime, Datuk Dr Hasan said YADIM also presented a plan to organise a National Da’wah Programme in Sarawak which is expected to be implemented between September and November this year to increase community understanding and create a peaceful and harmonious way of life in line with the nation’s aspirations.
According to him, the details of the programme will be discussed with the Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, DBKU and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, including aspects of the implementation, location and contents of the programme.
Also present during the visit was Sarawak Mufti and member of the Board of Trustees of YADIM Datu Khalidi Ibrahim as well as YADIM Sarawak Director Awang Dulhadi Awang Mat. -UKASnews
