TOBC 4.0 Earns Malaysia Book Of Records Recognition, Celebrates Borneo's Ethnic Diversity
MIRI: The Taste of Borneo Cultural Carnival (TOBC) 4.0 continued to showcase the unique heritage of Borneo's diverse ethnic communities after being recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) under the Most Ethnic Associations in a Parade category, further cementing the carnival's status as a leading platform for celebrating cultural diversity and strengthening regional unity.
The recognition was announced at the opening ceremony of TOBC 4.0, officiated by the Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, at the Boulevard Open Car Park, Miri, on Saturday.
The award recognises the largest participation of ethnic associations in a cultural parade, which serves as the hallmark and main attraction of the carnival.
The ceremony was also enlivened by cultural performances from Sabah, Brunei, Indonesia and Yunnan Province, China, reflecting the richness of Borneo's cultural heritage while strengthening friendship and international cooperation.
In addition, the ceremony witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) involving several ethnic associations, as well as the sealing of a sister city relationship between Miri City Council and the Lijiang Municipal People's Government, China, further strengthening cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism and bilateral relations. -UKASnews
