The VAE Lab was initiated as a strategic follow up to the Deputy Sarawak Secretary's site visit to the proposed development projects in Bekenu on 25 April 2026.
The session commenced with a presentation by JKR Sarawak outlining the resolutions and recommendations for four priority development projects, including new road construction, road upgrading and the proposed development of Kuala Sibuti Point.
In his remarks, Dato Sri Dr. Muhammad Abdullah emphasised that the VAE Lab provides a structured platform to validate project viability and strategic needs, strengthen project scope and planning, improve cost accuracy, assess project readiness and determine effective implementation strategies to ensure greater value for money.
