Sarawak TYT Receives Courtesy Call From Ukrainian Ambassador To Malaysia
KUCHING: The Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar received a courtesy call from the Ambassador of Ukraine to Malaysia, Dr Hennadii Nadolenko, at the Astana Negeri Sarawak on Tuesday.
The visit was to express an intent to expand cooperation with Sarawak across various strategic sectors, including food security, energy, digital technology, and infrastructure development.
According to Dr Hennadii, Sarawak possesses strengths in infrastructure development, economy, and technology that can be mutually explored with Ukraine through long-term partnerships.
"We exchanged views on several very interesting ideas regarding potential cooperation between Ukraine and Sarawak, including involving the Ukrainian business community.
"For me, the most important relationship between countries is the people-to-people connection.
"The connection between people and the business sector is very important, and we really hope to continue developing that network," he said when met by reporters after the courtesy call.
He added that Ukraine also views the expertise of Malaysian companies, particularly those in Sarawak, in the construction of roads, bridges, and infrastructure as one of the areas that could be explored to support his country's redevelopment efforts.
He further noted that the meeting with Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi took place in a positive atmosphere, with both parties agreeing to maintain communication and explore more cooperative opportunities beneficial to both Sarawak and Ukraine. — UKASnews
