MIRI: Participants of the International Conference on Responsible Tourism and Hospitality (ICRTH) 2026 had the opportunity to enjoy a Korean cultural experience through promoting a Korean Night featuring cultural performances, gastronomy and various interactive activities.
The programme which took place at the Musical Corridor, Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club on Tuesday was also attended by Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew.
ICRTH Advisor and Director of the Asia and Pacific Regional Department, UN Tourism Harry Hwang in his speech particularly emphasised the importance of cultural exchange and tourism cooperation in strengthening understanding between countries.
The audience also heard a welcome speech from Professor Dr Lee Seul Ki from Sejong University before presenting a promotional video highlighting tourism destinations, culture and unique experiences that the Republic of Korea has to offer.
The event was further enlivened with an interactive quiz 'Cuisine or Consequence: The Ultimate Korean Food Quiz' which tested participants' knowledge of traditional Korean food while brightening the atmosphere with the active participation of the delegates.
Various interactive games were also held to encourage the involvement of participants from various countries, strengthening cross-cultural relationships and understanding.
The programme ended with an exhibition and a tasting session of authentic Korean dishes that gave participants the opportunity to enjoy the unique gastronomy of the country while networking with delegates, players in the tourism industry and the local community. -UKASnews
