Education, Infrastructure & Unity Prioritised In Padawan's Development
PADAWAN: Education, infrastructure development and community unity remain key priorities in efforts to advance the Padawan area, including strengthening human capital and improving the wellbeing of rural communities.
Deputy Minister for Transport Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said holistic development depends not only on the provision of basic amenities such as roads, treated water supply and electricity, but must also be supported by human capital development.
"This is to ensure the younger generation can compete and contribute to the progress of their communities," he said when speaking at the Ngarom Bipajak Biperoh event at the Kuching Biperoh Association Hall at Jalan Puncak Borneo on Saturday.
In this regard, he said close cooperation among community leaders, village chiefs, associations and government agencies is crucial to ensuring development plans are implemented effectively and meet the needs of the locals.
On education, Datuk Dr Jerip stressed the importance of expanding education opportunities, particularly to help children from underprivileged families pursue higher education and build a better future.
He also expressed pride in the achievements of young people from Padawan who have succeeded in various professional fields, including engineering, law, architecture and medicine, demonstrating the importance of education in transforming communities.
During the event, Datuk Dr Jerip also presented education incentives totalling RM4,500 to 14 recipients as encouragement for them to continue striving for academic excellence. -UKASnews
