Sarawak Governor & Wife Take Inaugural Flight On AirBorneo
KUCHING: The Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, took their inaugural flight aboard an AirBorneo aircraft from Kuching to Kuala Lumpur, on Saturday.
The couple's departure aboard the AirBorneo flight reflects support for the Sarawak-owned airline, which plays a role in strengthening air connectivity and expanding the state's transportation network.
Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah arrived at the VIP Terminal of Kuching International Airport (KIA) at 12.15 pm and were greeted by the Minister of Works, Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, and the Sarawak Secretary who is also Chairman of AirBorneo, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
Also accompanying the flight were Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar and his wife, Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang, who boarded flight MY5005.
The aircraft was scheduled to depart at exactly 1pm and was expected to arrive at Terminal 1, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), at 2.50 pm.
It is understood that Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah departed for Kuala Lumpur to fulfil an official visit schedule.
Also present to see off the departure was AirBorneo Board Member, Datuk Philip Ting. -UKASnews
