KUCHING: Sarawak's Sovereign AI Infrastructure Platform which gathers government data and information in one integrated platform is able to accelerate the planning and development of smart cities in the state.

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg said the data collected in one platform could be utilised for development planning purposes including determining the location of residential areas, districts, business areas and public transport networks.

He said the use of the data allows the government to develop projects faster and accelerate the process of finding solutions.

“So, we can develop our projects faster. This means speeding up the search for solutions and we utilise the data findings collected on the platform,” he said.

He said this when met by reporters after the Launching Ceremony of the Sarawak Sovereign AI Infrastructure Platform at a leading hotel, here, on Monday.

Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari added that this initiative will benefit the people and industry players who require information related to the development potential of an area.

He said users only need to access the platform to obtain information such as location, area area and related data before making an application to the government for the area to be developed.

“They enter the platform which can show the location, how many areas there are, and the information in the data. So, they don’t have to wait.

“After that, they only have to apply to the government for the specific area so it expedites the process. This is why we have this common platform,” he added. -UKASnews
