LUBOK ANTU: A total of RM285,000 has been allocated under several funding channels including the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) and Minor Rural Projects (MRP) to three Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) in the Nyato Atas, Nyato Baruh and Rumah Norman areas during the ‘Bersama Komuniti Batang Ai’ Programme 2026.
The allocation involves RM125,000 to the Nyato Atas JKKK, while the Nyato Baruh JKKK received RM110,000 and the Rumah Norman JKKK received RM50,000.
Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh said political stability is crucial to ensure the continuity of development, delivery of basic facilities and implementation of projects for the people in the Batang Ai area on an ongoing basis.
According to him, the government's commitment to rural development must be supported by the cooperation of community leaders and residents to ensure that local needs can be identified and given attention according to priority.
Meanwhile, Lubok Antu District Officer Akoi Ejau said the ‘Bersama Komuniti Batang Ai’ Programme marks the eighth programme organised as an approach to bring government services closer to the rural community.
He added that throughout the programme, a total of 226 people received SarawakPass services, while dog license registration was also carried out involving 165 dogs. -UKASnews
