KUCHING: His Majesty the Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah safely arrived at the Kuching International Airport (KIA), on Thursday.
The arrival of His Majesty at approximately 11.45 am was welcomed by Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, DBKU and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.
Also welcoming the Sultan of Pahang were Opar Assemblyman Billy Sujang, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Operation) Datu Hii Chang Kee, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Administration) Datu Felicia Tan Ya Hua, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah and Commander of the 1st Infantry Division of the Malaysian Army (1 Div) Major General Mohd Sobirin Mohd Yusof.
In the evening, His Majesty will grace the ‘Majlis Santapan Malam’ which is also expected be attended by Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
On Friday, His Majesty is scheduled to perform Friday prayers at the Al-Sultan Abdullah Mosque, Telok Melano, before gracing the official opening of the mosque.
The mosque holds sentimental value for the Sultan of Pahang as His Majesty graced the groundbreaking ceremony for the mosque on 13 September 2023 during His Majesty's reign as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
After the ceremony, His Majesty will plant a 'Bauhinia Purpurea' sapling in the mosque compound before visiting the Telok Melano Beach and stopping at the 0.00-kilometre point of the Pan Borneo Highway for a commemorative photograph.
His Majesty is scheduled to return to Pahang Darul Makmur on Saturday from KIA to the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Kuantan Air Base. -UKASnews
