KUCHING: The Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, received a courtesy visit from the top leadership of Tabung Ekonomi Kumpulan Usaha Niaga (TEKUN) Nasional at Astana Negeri Sarawak on Thursday.

The visit, led by TEKUN Nasional chairman Dato’ Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid, was aimed at introducing the newly appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TEKUN Nasional, Mohamad Shiblie Abg Sapuan.

During the hour-long meeting, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi also shared his experience with TEKUN in efforts to strengthen the delivery of financing facilities for entrepreneurs.

He also suggested that the financing application process be simplified and streamlined to enable entrepreneurs to gain easier and faster access to capital.

He said the facilities should place greater emphasis on hawkers and small traders operating at local markets, as well as indigenous entrepreneurs and local Bumiputera communities.

In addition, the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak stressed the importance of intensifying publicity on TEKUN’s schemes and programmes to ensure information on financing facilities reaches a wider target group.

Also present were TEKUN Nasional Board of Trustees member Dato’ Zainal Abidin Abd Hamid, Head of Financing Management Division Mohd Yusri Mohd Yusob, Head of Corporate Services Division Nooraida Ismail, TEKUN Sarawak Manager Roslan Ais, and Head of Corporate Communications Department Ainun Rohayu Mohamad. -UKASnews
