ASAJAYA: The Asajaya Festival, which is scheduled to take place on 28 to 30 August, will bring together people from Asajaya District and Sadong Jaya Subdistrict through a variety of activities involving religious, youth, women and entrepreneurship aspects.

Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said that the festival offers a variety of activities aimed at the community from various walks of life.

"There are so many activities, including those involving religion, women and entrepreneurs," he said when met after attending a programme in Kampung Tambirat, here, on Tuesday.

He added that entertainment is also one of the main attractions with local singers from Sarawak scheduled to perform on 29 August, while renowned artists from the Peninsula will entertain visitors on 30 August.

Apart from that, the Asajaya Assemblyman said that government agencies were also participating through the preparation of exhibitions to enable visitors to obtain information related to government services and initiatives, while a lucky draw was also provided with various attractive prizes including motorcycles and refrigerators.

Dato Sri Abdul Karim also expressed hope that the people of Asajaya and Samarahan could attend the Asajaya Festival and take advantage of the various activities provided throughout the three days of the event.

At the same time, he hoped that the weather conditions would be suitable to ensure the smooth organisation of the festival. -UKASnews
