BINTULU: The Sarawak Secretary’s team (Team SUK) emerged as the overall champion of the MAKSAK Sarawak Games 2026 Pickleball Tournament held at Kenyalang Pickleball Central, Bintulu.


Notably, Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki partnered with Sarawak Attorney-General Dato Sri Saferi Ali to win the VIP Men’s Doubles title, followed by the Dato’ Mohammad Ibrahim and Anuar Ismail pair in second place.


Meanwhile, the pairs of Awang Mohamed Nizam and Mackos Sibong, as well as Azmi Usup and Ladin Atok, shared third place.


In the Women’s Doubles category, Kuching emerged as champions, followed by Team SUK in second place, while Sibu and Mukah shared third place.


Sibu won the Veteran Men’s Doubles category, followed by Miri in second place, while SUK Sarawak and Sarikei shared third place.


In the Veteran Women’s Doubles category, Kuching emerged as champions, followed by Miri in second place, while SUK Sarawak and Sarikei shared third place.


Sarikei topped the Mixed Doubles category, followed by SUK Sarawak in second place, while Kuching and Sibu shared third place.


For the VIP Women’s Doubles category, Dayang Zuriaty Izzrinda Abg Julaihi and Norafida Jamat emerged as champions, followed by Gladys Lim Ai Hui and Bidah Lujah in second place.


Dato Baduyah Bujang and Puan Sri Dato Hajah Fatimah Iskandar, along with Faridah Ahmad and Marni Manang, shared third place.


SUK Sarawak also secured the Best Management award, followed by Kuching in second place and Sarikei in third place.


Recognition for the Most Senior Male Player went to Radin Romani Radin Abdul Rahim, 61, from Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB), while Lee Hung, 58, from MAKSAK Bintulu Division received recognition as the Most Senior Female Player.


Muhammad Sufri Kasuadi and Siti Nur Shameera Abdullah, representing Team SUK, were respectively named the Male and Female Promising Player.


The tournament, held from 19 to 20 September, brought together MAKSAK teams from 12 divisions across Sarawak, alongside six specially invited teams namely Team SUK, Bintulu Development Authority (BDA), BPHB, Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR), Sarawak Water and Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB). -UKASnews
