Sarawakku Sayang Programme Highlights Unique Identity of Each Division, Mukah Set As Next Destination
BETONG: Uniqueness and local identity remain key strengths of the Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) Programme across every division, alongside bringing government services directly to the people.
Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Operations) Datu Hii Chang Kee explained that each host location for SKS presents a distinct approach and identity through a variety of activities, food showcases, and local community involvement.
According to him, the smooth execution of the programme is anchored by close cooperation among working committees who collaborate to ensure every element is delivered effectively.
“Every division hosting the Sarawakku Sayang programme possesses its own unique character, including its food kitchen concepts, culinary offerings, and scheduled activities. All of these reflect the distinct local identity,” he said during an interview with RTM on Sunday.
Commenting on upcoming events, Datu Hii, who also serves as Chairman of the Sarawakku Sayang Programme 2026 Divisional Committee (Central Zone), informed that Mukah will be the next destination after the programme in that division was previously postponed due to haze conditions.
“We hope the haze situation will improve so that the programme in Mukah can proceed as planned at the Pehin Setiaraja Mukah Square Site,” he said.
He added that key components to be featured include the Sarawak Pavilion, Mukah Kitchen and Sales, and an officiating ceremony by the Premier of Sarawak, alongside various side events.
“We will also host a Fun Walk, Fun Run, and a Brisk Walk with the Premier of Sarawak, in addition to a service medal presentation ceremony, a cultural night, and a community concert,” he added.
In the meantime, Datu Hii stated that he will conduct ground visits to review readiness levels in Mukah to ensure all preparations are in optimal condition ahead of the event.
He expressed hope for robust community participation in Mukah, in line with SKS’ core goal of bringing public services closer to the people.
“These services come to the people, rather than requiring the people to seek out the services. This is what the Sarawak Government is bringing to everyone,” he said. — UKASnews
