Five Enterprises To Be Selected For Pathways Entrepreneurship Development Programme
KUCHING: A total of 15 enterprises have been shortlisted for a selection process to identify five enterprises that will undergo a four-month entrepreneurship development programme under the Pathways initiative.
According to a statement by the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak (MINTRED) on Wednesday, the Pathways community entrepreneurship programme aims to empower micro-entrepreneurs and local communities through business capacity development, stronger product identity and branding, and expanded market access including through digital and e-commerce platforms.
The programme, held from 26 to 28 October 2026, is implemented by The Culture Capital Sdn Bhd with support from MINTRED to help micro-entrepreneurs and local communities strengthen their business foundations and improve the competitiveness of their products.
"The presentation and evaluation session for participants was held on 28 October at Makeramai Makerspace, Level 4, Plaza Merdeka, Kuching.
“The evaluation was conducted by a panel of judges comprising representatives from MINTRED, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak (MYSED) and the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC),” the statement said.
The panel assessed each applicant's business potential, suitability for participation and development needs.
The five selected enterprises will receive four months of focused guidance and support, covering business capacity building, strengthening brand identity, improving product branding and packaging, digital marketing and exploring wider market opportunities.
"Through a development approach tailored to the needs of each enterprise, the programme aims to increase product value, strengthen business positioning and help participants capitalise on new marketing channels, including digital platforms and e-commerce,” it said.
MINTRED added that the collaboration between The Culture Capital Sdn Bhd, MINTRED and related agencies reflects their shared commitment to strengthening Sarawak's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
"This initiative is expected to help the selected enterprises build more competitive and sustainable businesses while expanding opportunities to enter larger markets.
"The Pathways Programme is expected to serve as a catalyst for the development of micro-entrepreneurs and local communities, contributing to the growth and strengthening of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Sarawak," it said. -UKASnews
