KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg witnessed the handover of RM4 million in zakat contributions from Maybank Islamic Banking Group to Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) at Kompleks Satria Pertiwi, Petra Jaya, here on Friday.

The zakat contribution was presented by Maybank Group President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Khairussaleh Ramli, accompanied by Maybank Sarawak Regional Director Abang Jamili Abang Julai, to Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) president Datuk Misnu Taha, who represented TBS.

The contribution reflected Maybank’s commitment to fulfilling its zakat obligations, while supporting efforts to strengthen the welfare and well-being of the Muslim community in Sarawak.

It also highlighted the collaboration between financial institutions and zakat management institutions in extending assistance to those in need.

The initiative will further support efforts to strengthen the socio-economic development and welfare of the Muslim community in Sarawak. -UKASnews
