SIBURAN: A total of nine recipients have received checks from the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) totaling RM1,685,000 in the Tarat area.

Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development and Tarat Assemblyman, Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, presented the checks here, on Sunday.

Among the nine recipients are the Kampung Menjau SDA New Church, Santa Maria Catholic Church Kampung Baru Mawang, St. Murumba Catholic Church, Amitabha Buddhist Association Siburan District and Kampung Bunga SDA Church Serian.

This also included St. Edward Church Kampung Kawa Belimbing, St. Mark Church Kampung Bisira Rayang, Serian, St. Agnes Church Kampung Serumah, Padawan, and St. Clements Chapel Patung Church, Siburan.

Meanwhile, Dato Sri Roland said the funds were important to ensure daily affairs ran smoothly and benefited the local community.

"Each recipient must utilise the funds according to the purpose of the application and provide a complete report on the use of the funds.

“New applications can only be considered if existing funds have been fully used," he said. -UKASnews
