MUKAH: The Sarawak Government remains committed to strengthening the state’s education sector by ensuring a comfortable and conducive environment for both teachers and students, said Tellian Assemblyman Royston Valentine.

Speaking at the Handing Over Ceremony of the New Building for SK Kampung Petanak Mukah on Tuesday, he highlighted that a well-maintained school environment plays a vital role in nurturing excellent students.

“A good school building is very important because it is where our children learn and our teachers teach. If a building cannot be replaced with a new one, repair works must be carried out immediately to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone,” he said.

He noted that SK Kampung Petanak was among the schools completed under a package including SK Dua Sungai, Mukah and SK Dijih, Selangau.

According to him, the newly completed and modern facilities not only improve comfort but also motivate both teachers and students.

“A complete and modern school building not only provides comfort but also encourages teachers to teach and students to learn. This aligns with the state government’s goal of nurturing a competitive young generation and future leaders of quality,” he added.

Royston also called on all relevant agencies to continue working together to ensure that projects are implemented smoothly and on schedule.

He expressed appreciation to the Public Works Department (JKR) and all parties involved for ensuring the success of the project.

Also present were Mukah Division JKR Engineer Awang Dasuki Awang Dol, SK Kampung Petanak Headmaster Afian Bokhan, and SK Kampung Petanak Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) Chairman Ramlan Ali. -UKASnews
