Graduation Day Inspires 225 SMK Limbang Students To Aim Higher
LIMBANG: The achievements of 225 Form 5 students were celebrated at the LiGoSS Graduation Ceremony (LiGraCe) organised by SMK Limbang, marking a milestone that signals both accomplishment and new beginnings for the young cohort.
Attended by more than 550 people, the ceremony was officiated by Deputy Minister of Transport Malaysia and Member of Parliament for Limbang, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah.
In his speech, Datuk Hasbi emphasised that Graduation Day is not only a recognition of the students’ hard work, but also an appreciation of the dedication shown by teachers and parents who have supported the students throughout their secondary schooling.
“Teachers are the backbone in shaping knowledgeable and ethical generations, while parents are the source of strength who guide their children through challenges. I truly appreciate the commitment of all parties in ensuring the success of our children today,” he said.
He reminded the graduating students that completing Form 5 is not the end, but the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities in education, skills development and career pathways.
With the SPM examinations underway, he urged the students to stay focused and disciplined.
“Use your remaining time wisely. Put aside activities that waste time such as hanging out or excessive online gaming. Effort will never betray results. Do not fear failure as failure is a space to learn and rise stronger,” he advised.
Datuk Hasbi also highlighted the importance of personal safety during the examination period, encouraging students to remain motivated until the final day of SPM.
“As young people, you are the hope of this country and the ambassadors of Limbang. Use the knowledge gained to build a brighter future for yourselves, your families, the community and the nation,” he added.
The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards including Best SPM 2024 Students, Special Graduation Awards, Top 3 Graduation Awards for each class, Top 5 STEM Achievers, Top 10 Humanities Achievers, Best Form 5 Subject Awards, and Rising Star Awards.
Also present were SMK Limbang Principal, Norfarhana Abdullah, representative of the Limbang District Education Office, Wardah Widya Jim Abdullah, and Vice Chairperson of the Parent-Teacher Association, Cisilia Alias. -UKASnews
