Community-Led Khatan Programme Set To Assist Over 150 Boys
TANJUNG MANIS: More than 150 boys from Tanjung Manis, Sarikei, Sare and Selalang are expected to benefit from the upcoming Program Khatan Perdana 2025, a community initiative offering free circumcision services to families in need.
Organised by SABERKAS Kuala Rajang Branch, the programme is open to all boys without age limits or participant caps.
The programme is supported by Armada Pemuda PBB Kuala Rajang, Belia 1828 Kuala Rajang and the Kuala Rajang Service Centre.
The effort is also driven by the ideas and encouragement of Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment who is also the Kuala Rajang Assemblyman Datuk Len Talif Salleh.
PBB Kuala Rajang Branch Youth Chief Councillor Mornurazli Morshidi said the programme aims to ease financial burdens on families while instilling early awareness of hygiene and health.
“This initiative helps lighten the costs for parents, and more importantly, promotes good hygiene practices from a young age,” he said.
He added that strong participation is anticipated, as previous editions recorded up to 200 boys.
The programme will kick off at Masjid Darul Arqam, Kampung Belawai on 20 December, followed by Dewan Komuniti Masjid Al-Muttaqin in Sarikei on 21 and 22 December.
Kampung Sare will host the third session at Dewan Tuai Rumah Cherengga on 23 December, while Kampung Selalang will conclude the series on 24 December.
Mornurazli also advised that registration forms can be obtained from PBB Youth Sub-branch leaders or nearby schools to simplify the sign-up process. -UKASnews
