Sibu Industrial Park Scheduled For Completion In 2029
KUCHING: The Sibu Industrial Park is scheduled for completion in 2029, covering an area of approximately 150 acres.
Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh said the industrial park will offer about 100 industrial lots, each ranging between 0.6 acres and 1.1 acres.
According to him, the park will be equipped with essential infrastructure for future operations, including a drainage system capable of managing both water runoff and facility discharge.
“This also includes electricity infrastructure and supply, telecommunications infrastructure, water reticulation system, centralised sewage treatment system, and a high-level water tank,” he said.
He said this when responding to a question from Bawang Assan Assemblyman Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh during the 19th Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Sitting on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Batang Ai Assemblyman also shared that the industrial land premium for major towns in Sarawak is RM20 per square foot for filled land, and RM10 per square foot for unfilled land.
He noted that this rate for land premium is about RM43,000 to RM87,000 per acre, which is regarded to be very competitive within this region. -UKASnews
