Carols Of Peace 2025 Brings Festive Cheer & Hope To The Community
KUCHING: The spirit of Christmas shone brightly in the city as the Kuching Choral Society (KCS), together with the Kuching Wind Symphony, hosted its annual Christmas Charity Concert, “Carols of Peace,” an event marked by music, unity and meaningful community support.
The heart of the evening was a RM15,000 contribution to Home of Peace, raised through overwhelming support from guests, sponsors and performers.
The donation highlighted the concert’s mission of extending compassion and uplifting vulnerable communities during the festive season.
Representing Deputy Premier of Sarawak and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, was the Batu Kitang Assemblyman, Dato Ir Lo Khere Chieng attended the event as guest of honour.
Kuching Choral Society Chairman and Conductor, Benedict Lo, and Kuching Wind Symphony Director and Resident Conductor, Wilson Tan, led the evening’s performances, which showcased a blend of choral arrangements and symphonic selections celebrating the joy of Christmas.
The concert drew strong support from the public, reflecting the community’s growing appreciation for music as a bridge between cultures and as a platform for charitable outreach.
KCS expressed its gratitude to the performers, volunteers and sponsors whose contributions ensured the success of the event, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing music education, fostering cultural harmony and strengthening community engagement.
With its blend of charity and celebration, “Carols of Peace 2025” continued its legacy as one of Kuching’s meaningful year-end traditions, bringing people together through the universal language of music.
Catholic Welfare Services Chairman Jacob Wong and Home of Peace Matron Sister Flora Tinggang were also among the distinguished attendees.
Also present were Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Sarawak, Dr Abdullah Zulkifli, and his spouse Ibu Irma Zulkifli, together with key figures from Sarawak’s music and welfare community. -UKASnews
