Sports Day Strengthens Community Spirit At Kampung Tambirat Hilir
ASAJAYA: The strong sense of unity in Kampung Tambirat Hilir was on full display as hundreds of residents of all ages came together for the Community Sports Day held at the compound of Surau Darul Jannah on Sunday morning.
Attended by Kampung Tambirat Hilir Village Chief, Sulaiman Lee, the programme showcased the active involvement of local leaders and residents in promoting harmony, volunteerism and shared identity within the village community.
Organised by the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Tambirat Hilir, the event served as a gesture of appreciation to villagers for their continuous cooperation and support throughout 2025, while fostering closer ties among neighbours.
A variety of family-friendly activities filled the day, featuring games for children, adults and senior citizens.
These included Boling Nyior, Fill-the-Bottle Water Race, children and senior colouring contests, dart competition, football matches, Balloon-in-the-Glass challenge and the event highlight was the Lucky Draw.
In his opening speech, Sulaiman emphasised that the gathering was more than just about sports, noting that it reflected the village’s longstanding culture of togetherness.
He said the sense of closeness displayed by the residents demonstrated the strength of their community spirit, which he described as the foundation of the village’s continued harmony and success.
Sulaiman added that achievements at the village level are only possible when all residents work hand in hand, stressing the importance of sustaining teamwork and unity in facing future challenges together.
The JKKK expressed hope that the Community Sports Day will become an annual programme, expanded with more activities to ensure that volunteerism, solidarity and community engagement continue to thrive.
Also present were SK Tambirat Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) President, Nasrol Jolhan, Surau Darul Jannah Chairman, Ismail Bedia, and members of JKKK Tambirat Hilir who contributed to the event’s success. -UKASnews
