Allocation Of MRP & RTP To Be Continued, Increased
KUCHING: Allocations for Minor Rural Projects (MRP) and Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) Projects need to be continued or increased for each state constituency.
Meluan Assemblyman Dato Rolland Duat Jubin requested that this application be considered by the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg as part of the effort to uplift their respective constituencies.
"We are asking the Sarawak Premier to increase our budget because we have heard about the bonuses presented earlier.
“We don’t need bonuses, as long as the allocation of MRP and RTP can be increased," he said while speaking at the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Backbenchers Night at a leading hotel here on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, he also expressed his congratulations to Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari for being awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star by the Japanese Government which is one of the country's highest honours.
"From now on, when someone asks why Sarawak has such a strong relationship with Japan, the people of Sarawak can proudly say that the Sarawak Premier has now officially received Gold and Silver Star recognition.
"Indeed, this achievement inspires us all in the best way. We are very proud because the leadership of the Premier of Sarawak has strengthened Japan-Malaysia relations and elevated the name of Sarawak in the eyes of the world," he explained.
Also present were Sarawak Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, Speaker of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar, Ministers and Deputy Ministers, Chief Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier and Chairman of the GPS Backbenchers Club Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, Sarawak Assemblymen and other distinguished guests. -UKASnews
