SEDC Brings Comfort & Hope To Datuk Ajibah Abol Children’s Home
SRI AMAN: Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative extended the contribution of essential equipment and items to support the daily needs of Datuk Ajibah Abol Children’s Home in Sri Aman, reaffirming its continued commitment to community well-being and inclusive social development.
According to a statement, the handover ceremony was officiated by SEDC General Manager Datu Abdul Hadi Datuk Abdul, and was attended by the management of the children’s home, members of the organising committee, SEDC representatives, as well as the children under the care of the home.
In his remarks, Datu Abdul Hadi emphasised that the CSR programme goes beyond the provision of material assistance, reflecting SEDC’s sincere commitment to understanding the real needs of the community and contributing to the long-term well-being of vulnerable groups, particularly children.
“The contribution comprised a range of essential equipment and household items identified to support the daily operations of the children’s home while enhancing the comfort, safety and overall welfare of the children.
“The items contributed included two air-conditioning units, one washing machine complete with dryer, one television, three refrigerators, two 12-door wardrobe cabinets, one water dispenser and one stainless steel table,” he said.
These contributions are expected to help create a more conducive, safe and comfortable environment that supports the children’s emotional, intellectual and social development.
According to him, the programme also served as an important platform to strengthen engagement and explore opportunities for sustained collaboration in the future, including educational initiatives, skills development programmes, character-building activities and motivational sessions that will directly benefit the children.
SEDC reiterated that social development must progress hand in hand with economic growth, in line with its corporate aspiration, ‘Prospering Sarawak Today for Tomorrow’, where the well-being of the people and the future of the younger generation remain central priorities.
SEDC extends its sincere appreciation to the management of Datuk Ajibah Abol Children’s Home, the organising committee and all parties who contributed their efforts and support towards the successful implementation of this programme. -UKASnews
