SARATOK: A total of 400 recipients from various ethnic groups and religious backgrounds here recently received food basket assistance through a programme organised by the Ji Yuan Shan She Saratok Charity and Moral Education Association.

Kalaka Assemblyman, Mohamad Duri and Krian Assemblyman Friday Belik were present to engage with the community and personally hand over the contributions to the recipients during the programme, which was held at the open hall of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) (SJKC) Min Syn Saratok.

The contribution programme was held in conjunction with a Charity Campaign and Blood Donation Drive aimed at easing the burden of the local community ahead of the Christmas celebrations, with particular focus on persons with disabilities (OKU) and those in need.

The recipients comprised members of the Chinese, Iban and Malay communities, reflecting the harmony and unity that exist among the multi-ethnic population in the area.

The food baskets distributed contained basic necessities such as rice, noodles, bread and other essential kitchen items. -UKASnews
