Infrastructure Development Strengthens Sarikei's Growth
SARIKEI: The implementation of various strategic infrastructure projects in Sarikei continues to act as a catalyst for economic growth, enhanced public mobility, and the comprehensive development of both urban and rural areas within this division.
Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities and Member of Parliament for Sarikei, Dato’ Sri Huang Tiong Sii, said that the development planned and implemented by the government has brought immense benefits to local residents, particularly in terms of connectivity facilities, the economy, and investment opportunities.
According to him, projects such as the Sarikei–Tanjung Manis Road and the Batang Rajang Bridge do not only ease the journey of residents but also unlock greater development potential in the surrounding areas.
“The construction of the Sarikei–Tanjung Manis Road and the Batang Rajang Bridge are among the infrastructure projects that bring a huge impact to the development of this area.
“These facilities do not only ease the movement of residents, but also open up more economic and tourism opportunities,” he said.
He said this while speaking during the 67th Anniversary Celebration of a community organisation at the Representative Service Centre on Thursday.
Dato’ Sri Huang, who is also Repok Assemblyman, noted that efforts to strengthen development in Sarikei will continue to be intensified to ensure the people continue to enjoy better facilities and development opportunities in the future.
In the meantime, he also urged the community to continue maintaining the spirit of cooperation, unity, and mutual support to ensure that planned developments can be continuously implemented for mutual benefit. — UKASnews
