Lingga Assemblywoman Boosts Morale For Datus United FC Squad
SRI AMAN: Lingga Assemblywoman, Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor boosted the morale of the Datus United FC squad ahead of their departure to Kuching to compete in the Petronas Youth Football Championship League 2025.
The brief send-off took place at the Sri Aman Bus Terminal on Friday.
In her short address, Dayang Noorazah urged the players to make the most of the opportunity to take part in the tournament by playing with full commitment, maintaining discipline and demonstrating a high level of sportsmanship.
She explained that every match serves as an important learning platform in shaping the mentality, physical resilience and overall maturity of young players.
“Winning or losing is a normal part of sport, but what matters more are the discipline, attitude and values that the players carry with them both on and off the pitch.
“You are all carrying the name of the club, your families and the name of Simanggang,” she said.
Dayang Noorazah also expressed her congratulations to the club’s management, coaching staff and parents for their continued support of youth football development in the area.
According to her, sustained efforts to identify and nurture young talent must continue in order to produce athletes who not only excel in sports, but are also well balanced academically and in terms of personal character.
At the same time, she emphasised the importance of building strong personal identity and spiritual strength among the players, particularly the need to observe prayers and uphold religious values even while facing the pressures of competition and a demanding match schedule.
She noted that balance between physical, mental and spiritual aspects is a key element in developing resilient athletes with strong moral character.
“I hope the players will always maintain good conduct, comply with competition rules and use this tournament as a platform to gain experience and further improve their individual performance,” she stressed. -UKASnews
