Uphold Segulai Sejalai Spirit To Strengthen Ties Between People & Leaders
SPAOH: The spirit of Segulai Sejalai, which forms the foundation of unity among Sarawak’s multiracial and multi-religious society, must be preserved as a vital element in strengthening close relationships between the people and their leaders.
Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the spirit plays an important role in enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation, which in turn facilitates the implementation of more development initiatives for the wellbeing of the community, particularly in the Bukit Saban area.
“This spirit is essential in building strong ties between leaders and the people, making it easier to roll out various development efforts for the benefit of the local community,” he said when speaking at the Bukit Saban Constituency Christmas Open House 2025 held at the Spaoh Community Hall on Saturday.
Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah added that the Christmas open house was organised to strengthen goodwill and further enhance the relationship between leaders and the people, while celebrating the festive occasion in an atmosphere of harmony and mutual respect.
He noted that visitors had the opportunity to mingle with members of the leadership and enjoy the food provided, making the event an effective platform to reinforce community unity regardless of race or religion.
